Hello! I am Mr. Doyle. I am one of the fourth grade teachers here at Judson School. This is my thirty-first year teaching in Watertown schools.Prior to teaching here at Judson, I taught fourth grade at Baldwin School, and before that, I taught science and math at Swift Junior High School. Each spring I am also the coordinator of the Judson School Invention Convention. Students from our school are also selected to participate in the Ct. Invention Convention held at the University of Connecticut.

Some other biographical information: I grew up in New Britain, CT. I attended C.C.S.U. for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I am married. My wife, Cheryl and I have three children whose ages are between 22 nd 28. I am an avid fisherman, and also a die-hard Baltimore Orioles fan. And yes, I do have a classroom pet, a guinea pig named "Timmy".

I really enjoy teaching the children at the fourth grade level. The students get very excited when doing any type of special activity or project. I do feel it is important to vary the teaching and learning strategies during the course of the year, but I also feel that it's important for the students to learn the basics in each subject area.
During the course of the year the students will take a variety of tests and quizzes. Some of these tests and quizzes will be "quarterly assessments" for that specific subject. The scores received on these assessments will count as part of that term's grade. Unfortunately though, we cannot send home these tests or quizzes. Each student will have all of their assessments kept in a folder in the classroom. I usually review the results of these assessments with the students, and for the tests, I will send home a note with the score. Parents: at any time you may request a meeting to review any of these quarterly assessments.
Special Note: Parents: if you have any questions or concerns that come up throughout the school year please feel free to contact me at school during the week (M - F) by e-mail at my website: doyleth@watertownps.org . You can certainly also send in a note or give me a phone call at school. Homework : will be posted on this webpage every school day by 4:00p.m. This will also include the dates of upcoming tests, quizzes, and special projects.
