Literacy Skills

Each month the children will be memorizing a nursery rhyme. A copy will be sent home. Please make it a family activity.

 Classroom Environment

The classroom is divided into interest areas centered around specific types of play. The block corner, motor center and sand table are always favorite places. Each month we add and/or change the play centers to encourage new skills and interests. This month the kitchen and a baby center  has been set up. We have added new blocks to the building center.

Basic concepts including colors, shapes, counting, matching, and name recognition continue to be a focus. We are learning the names of letters and their sounds.  Please practice thinking of words that begin with a specific sound. (i.e. B-ball, balloon, barn, bat.)
