News & Announcements
Dear Polk School families,
I hope that everyone has enjoyed the unseasonable weather. It is that time of the year when all grade 3-5 students in the state of Connecticut will be taking the Connecticut Mastery Test. The test will begin on March 6, 2012. This is a very important test and is similar to a yearly check-up. The results of the test will show just how well your child is achieving in the areas of reading, mathematics, and writing for all grades, and science in grade 5. The skills being assessed on the Connecticut Mastery Test are skills that have been taught within the Watertown Curriculum. Please help to make this a very positive experience for your children. Please encourage your children to do their best and build their confidence. This will ensure that your children will use their ability to perform well on the test. There will be a Parent CMT Day on February 17, 2012 @ 10:00-10:45 and I am looking forward to your attendance. It is extremely important that students arrive at school on time during the testing window because the test will begin first thing in the morning. Once the testing begins, no one is allowed to interrupt the session. I am very grateful to our Polk School P.T.O., who will provide a small breakfast snack prior to the taking of the Connecticut Mastery Test. The following is a schedule for the test:
