Organization
Students should:
Record homework assignments DAILY in the Student Agenda.
Record long-term projects in the Student Agenda when they are assigned.
Record reminders for long-term projects each week until the assignment is complete.
'Chunk' steps needed to complete long-term projects.
Parents should:
Check agendas for support and for notes from the teachers.
Study Skills
Students should:
Attend study sessions for science and social studies when offered.
Review daily classroom notes every night.
Re-read the chapter to be tested, prior to the test.
Focus on and review key vocabulary words.
Use or make an outline, Venn diagram, timeline or other type of graphic organizer to outline complex material.
Use a study buddy to 'test' each other prior to taking the test.
Extra Help
Students should:
Seek extra help when needed. Teachers are available before and after school.
Use study halls wisely and seek extra help if needed.
Remember: If you need help just ask!
