Physical Education
Students in middle school are required to take Physical Education (gym) class. If your child has an injury or illness and cannot participate in gym, a signed note must be sent to the nurse's office. For a one time incident, a parents note is sufficient however a physician's note will be required for anything longer.
Medications
With the exception of physician approved asthma inhalers, students are not permitted to possess any medications on school grounds. Medications required during school hours will be dispensed by the nurse. All medications, even over the counter medications such as Advil®, Tylenol® and Motrin® require written physician's approval. Parents or guardians should deliver the medication in a labled container, along with the physician's order, to the nurses office.
Sports Physicals
Any student wishing to participate in a sport at Swift Middle School must have a physical on file by the day of the tryout for that sport. Sports physicals are good for 13 months from the date they are signed. If your child is chosen for his/her sport, the physical must remain up do date throughout that sports season. Any questions, please call the nurses office.
