Dear Watertown Public Schools Families:

On 11/14/20 the WATERTOWN PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT was notified that a member of our school community (John Trumbull Elementary School) has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). The affected individual has been instructed to remain in home isolation until deemed recovered by the Health Department [we are not allowed to say any more about the affected person].   Based on contact tracing being conducted by the Torrington Area Health District in conjunction with school administration, anyone who is considered a "close contact" with the affected individual has been contacted by school officials and provided with instructions on the appropriate steps to take. Should any of the impacted “close contacts” require further information, the Torrington Area Health District is available for consultation. • ALL SCHOOLS WILL REMAIN OPEN***
[***PLEASE BE AWARE THAT A CHANGE IN OUR LEARNING MODEL COULD TAKE PLACE AT ANY POINT.  WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO KEEP OUR SCHOOLS OPEN AND EVERYONE SAFE.  SAFETY FIRST.  IF WE NEED TO, WE WILL SHIFT TO HYBRID OR ALL REMOTE LEARNING WHERE NECESSARY.  PLEASE STAY ALERT FOR OUR COMMUNICATIONS.]

Of course, thorough cleaning is taking place in all school buildings.

We will keep you posted should there be any further developments.
