Attention Eighth Grade Parents and Guardians!

Hello 8th Grade Parents & Guardians I wanted to let you know that the Watertown High School ninth grade course selection process has begun.   Last Friday, I partnered with Mrs. Chunis, WHS Guidance Department Chair, to deliver a general presentation to students about course selection.  Some of the topics we covered included teacher level recommendations, credits, elective courses and graduation requirements.

Currently, your student's teachers are making level recommendations for their core academic subjects (English, History, Math, Science & World Language).  Once they have completed their recommendations,  you will be able to view them through your student's PowerSchool portal.

During the week of April 3rd, I will be visiting Language Arts classes to show students how to log in to PowerSchool to choose their electives.  Once student’s select their electives, you will be able to view their choices and can make changes if necessary.

Please know that even if your student is planning to attend a high school other than Watertown High, they are still required to choose courses and participate in this process.

For your reference, I have included links to the list of courses available to ninth grade students, as well as my presentation from last Friday.  In addition, you will also find links to the 2023-24 WHS Course Catalogue.
