Dear Watertown Public Schools Faculty, Families, and Students, September 15, 2023

Today seemed to mark the familiar feeling of that ‘one day’ when the breeze turns cool and the trees sway welcoming the possibility of Fall! Don’t forget to click the links!

This week was filled with several open houses, the welcoming of two new BOE Student Council Representatives, a Town commemoration of the events of 9/11 that took place 22 years ago (Click here for pictures from the September 11- Memorial, and a full week of teaching and learning. See below for some pics and upcoming events.

Sincerely,

Rosh Hashanah

Beginning tonight until Sunday evening, our Jewish families will begin celebrations for Rosh Hashanah, a holiday that signifies the Jewish New Year! This traditional time includes friends and family joining together over festive meals of challah (bread) and apples dipped in honey. This is also a time of deep reflection. Between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (Sept. 25) goals and intentions for the new year are often set by members of the Jewish community.

We wish all of our Jewish families and friends a festive and happy new year “Shana Tova U’metuka”—have a good and sweet year!
