Iris Anderson wins Holiday Card Contest

Watertown Public Schools is excited to continue the tradition of inviting Kindergarten students to design the district holiday card for a fifth year.  This tradition brings together our district and community and reminds us of the positive impact our students make each day.

Earlier this year, all kindergarten students created a winter scene in class that included trees. All of the projects were reviewed by the John Trumbull Primary School administrators and central office staff members to choose one picture to be used for the district holiday card that is sent to all district staff and town officials.

This year’s winning selection of an evergreen in a starry night was created by Iris Anderson from Ms. Kaczmarczyk’s class.  This afternoon, Ms. Meka, Ms. Fekete and Dr. Harrison presented a framed copy of the card to Iris and her family and it was great to see her classmates shower her with congratulatory hugs. Their beautiful representation of joy and love is exactly what we need in our community at this time.

Special thanks to kindergarten teachers for keeping this tradition alive. Congratulations to Iris and to all of our kindergarten students for adding a little holiday magic to our lives!
