Bernadette Bennette Named Watertown Public Schools Paraeducator of the Year
Watertown Public Schools is proud to announce that Bernadette Bennette, a dedicated paraeducator at John Trumbull Primary School, has been named the 2026 Watertown Public Schools Paraeducator of the Year. With over a decade of service supporting the district’s youngest learners, Bernadette exemplifies the values and commitment that define excellence in education. She is known for her unwavering positivity, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for helping students succeed. She believes that being a positive role model is crucial and finds a sense of pride and accomplishment when given the opportunity to be part of a community focused on supporting and assisting those in need.
Bernadette’s colleagues and supervisors praise her for her enthusiasm, professionalism, and ability to create an inclusive and engaging environment. She is recognized for her excellent interpersonal and communication skills, her ability to multitask and stay organized, and her willingness to embrace new responsibilities. Whether supporting students one-on-one or supervising groups, Bernadette brings patience, creativity, and a sense of joy to her work every day. During her interview, Ms. Bennett shared that she loves making learning fun and watching the kids’ accomplishments. Her goal is to ensure that everyone feels valued.
