Observing Ramadan

On Saturday evening, the Muslim community kicked off Ramadan, a holy month. During this month, until the moon appears as a crescent moon, members from the Muslim community will fast from dawn to sunset (daily fasting involves approximately 16 hours without food or water). Ramadan is dedicated to self-improvement and spiritual reflection. Because of this, many of the Muslim faith will find time to share food with friends and neighbors after fasting; become more charitable and devote themselves to helping others. At the end of the month, fasting will cease and the Muslim community will celebrate Eid al-Fitr a special Islamic holiday with fun festivities, lots of food, and gift exchanges!

During this time, we wish our families, students, and employees from the Muslim community a manageable fast, good health, and respectful awareness of this special ritual.

Looking for Student Input on WPS

A WHS Student Only Strategic Plan 2026 Focus Group is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 during WIN Block. If you are a student and would like to participate, sign up here!

The WPS is a district that believes our students’ feedback is important. The district is looking for input from STUDENTS to help us determine what the core values of our 5 schools and community are. WHS students are invited to share their insights and If you can’t make the focus group, please complete a community wide survey!!! Click here to complete the district wide survey

By filling out the survey, stakeholders from the Watertown community will help us determine what we stand for, what we believe in, and what the Watertown Public Schools are unrelentingly not willing to compromise.
