Dear Watertown Public Schools Faculty, Students, and Families,

A very special time for our Muslim families, students, and colleagues begins this evening, March 22, 2023. The holy month of Ramadan is a time where those of the Muslim faith engage in spiritual reflection, self-improvement, charity and positive fellowship. During this time, those observing this tradition fast without food or water from sunrise to sunset and look forward to sharing food with friends and family only after the day is done. At the end of the month, many families mark the end of Ramadan with festivities, gift exchanges, and special celebrations for Eid al-Fitr. We wish our WPS families engaging in Ramadan a successful month of deep reflection and good health as they dedicate themselves to this tradition.
